Martini Sky - Great New Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge
                                             in Danville

John and I went here last night because we wanted to check it out and I couldn't stand not knowing about a new restaurant!!  We intended to just go for a quick cocktail and maybe a nibble.
When we walked in, who do we see but Jeff Dudum.  As some of you probably know, Jeff has opened many restaurants in Walnut Creek.  We have know and followed him since his first, which was a martini bar called Twist, located on N. Main Street.  Since then he has opened Havana, Slates, Bings, McCoveys, had a part in Lift Lounge, and probably others I am forgetting about.  I have to say I have liked ALL of these restaurants.
I didn't know he was behind this one.  When he saw us, he asked us where the dog was (which goes back to the days of Twist being created, and us always walking downtown with Jazz Macumba (our Ridgeback) and checking out their remodel progress.  Martini Sky has outdoor seating, where dogs are welcome.   Jeff tells us that this is a spin-off of Twist.  I think Twist was the first martini bar - at least in this area-  and was a fun new concept.
Anyway, I encourage all you foodies to go try this place.  It is in the old Patrick David location, in the Danville Livery Mercantile center.  They have happy hour from Sunday - Thursday from 4-6 pm.
So lets get down to eating and drinking.  They have mostly small plates, which I think are so much fun!!  Upon Jeff's recommendations, we ordered:  the Asian Ribs, The Beet Salad (like nothing I've ever had and for sure the best I've ever had!), the Lobster Sliders, and the french fries.  It was all so tasty!  I also had to have a Blackbird Martini which is their most popular cocktail.  They have lots of wonderful, fun cocktails.  For dessert we split a chocolate soufflé.  We didn't have to wait the usual 20 minutes that most places require and it came out warm and gooey (how'd they do that?!)  It was enough to share and it came with a giant scoop of vanilla bean ice cream - YUM!  I ordered another cocktail, The Nutty Cowboy, to go with it cause it sounded so good (Bourbon and Frangelico shaken over ice).  I'll be making that one at home!  Anyone that has been to our pool parties knows I LOVE to find great new cocktails!!
In closing, I have to say, I'll be going back in a few weeks for my birthday dinner that my brother always takes me out for.  This place is great and our experience was an A+.  Service was really good, as was the atmosphere, and everything we ate and drank, was tasty, innovative, and artfully prepared.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, IT!

You mean this Jeff Dudum that ripped off his employees, suppliers, vendors and customers?

Yes, that Jeff Dudum, the one who rips off anyone who has the misfortune of coming into contact with him.
